This unique area of Aspen feels like one is in the country, yet is actually in town with all that provides. . Toby Lane is even more private with only two homes at the top of the gated and superbly landscaped driveway. It backs up to the land on Shadow Mountain that is too steep to be built on, according to the Pitkin County Code, and feels much more private and much larger than the 1 acre lot size that it is. The sun sets hours later up on the Toby Lane bench in the winter than in downtown Aspen, yet there is still pizza and Chinese food delivery. The free Aspen Downtowner shuttle is available on call, even though downtown is within walking or biking distance.

Additionally, there is easy access to fishing on Castle Creek. It’s fun to explore the Historic Holden Marolt buildings and the remains of the historic Lixiviation Works from the silver mining years.
